Rule Clarification
Balls hit through the pitching machine circle that do not hit the machine, cord or coach are live balls. If the ball hits the machine, cord or coach it is a dead ball and the batter gets first base. Runners advance only if forced by the batter getting first base.
If any player makes contact with a hit ball inside the circle or steps in the circle while playing a hit ball, the ball is dead and the batter gets first base. Runners advance only if forced by the batter getting first base.
If any player makes contact with a thrown ball inside the circle or steps in the circle while playing a thrown ball, the ball is dead and runners will be advance at the umpire’s discretion.
On diamond # 2, a ball that hits the fencing behind or beyond the base lines is alive and in play unless it goes in the dugout , hits a coach, on deck batter or any object such as a bat that is not in use on the field
