Umpires
At North York, we use umpires of all ages to umpire our games. Usually, we use different umpires for our Houseleague and Rep games. The pay rate is is dependent on the level and age group that is umpired.
Umpiring is a great way to earn extra spending money over the summertime and it gives you an excuse to spend more time at the ballpark! Umpire shirts, caps, ball bats, brushes and counters are provided prior to the season. The OBA certifies Umpires at different levels. Level 1 is sufficient for all House League and rep to Peewee level. Clinics will be hosted by the NYBA in April/May. Houseleague umpires who do not plan to be carded by the OBA must attend the alternative NYBA clinic at Bond Park. See sidebar for dates
